MTV definitely tested out different formas for the series, as their most popular shows only featured ‘OG’ moms so there’s not much room left for any newcomers.
Seemingly, ‘Young & Pregnant’ serves this exact purpose – it’s clear that is MTV returning to its original roots of the ‘Teen Mom’ franchise with this show.
