Thanks to his relationship with Amber Portwood, Matt secured himself a spot in MTV’s show at the time. They were dating and even talking engagement plans in the period of 2013 to 2017.

Despite their relationship lasting a couple of years, it didn’t last beyond 2017 cause of Matt being insincere to his girlfriend.

Amber took measures against Matt to prove that he wasn’t being honest and she managed to confirm it.

Matt’s salary on the show

While being on MTV’s show can make you a living, this isn’t true for supporting cast members that make less. Matt was of course the supporting cast member of Amber’s story and his salary didn’t match up to hers.

Reportedly, Matt made anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 per episode of the show.

In comparison, Amber makes anywhere from $25,000 to $50,000 per episode.
